Welcome to the Primary School
(Reception to Year 6)
Spacious classrooms, well equipped playgrounds and excellent resources give children the opportunity to learn in stimulating surroundings. Teachers, including specialist staff, focus on the development of the whole child and place great emphasis on the needs of the individual. Within a friendly, caring and safe environment, created by small classes, specific attention is given to the development of literacy and numeracy skills within a broad curriculum.
Classroom teachers focus on quality learning and developing the whole child. Staff plan activities to provided children with meaningful, relevant, engaging and challenging learning experiences.
Specialist teachers take classes for the Arts, German and Physical Education. Literacy, Numeracy and ICT is integrated across the curriculum. Children have excellent access to computers in their classrooms or as a class in the two computing suites. Technology also gives Year 5 & 6 students the opportunity to learn instrumental music through video conferencing.
The development of Leadership skills is encouraged through participation in the Junior School Student Representative Council.
Parents are warmly welcomed and encouraged to participate and assist in classrooms in a variety of ways.
